Misc. Notes
Jane's name was found in West Virginia Division of Culture and History, The Archives and History Commission, Harrison Co., Marriages, Book 2, page 104.
Jane's father died in Virginia, now West Virginia. She and possibly others, along with cousins and their families migrated to Ohio before 1812. Since Jane's mother was also found there and indeed was the first woman buried in the Asbury M. E. Chapel Cemetery in Clark Co., Ohio, I sought proof that Jane and her husband George Piper did migrate to Ohio along with their children. Since so many of the Runyan family remained in Clark Co. and other counties in Ohio, it did not surprise me to find the Piper name there as well.
A copy of the marriage record for George Piper and Jane Runyan shows they married 11 April 1805 in Harrison County, Virginia, now West Virginia.
Evidence did find that George and Jane moved on to Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, where their daughters Susannah and Elizabeth and their families had moved in 1831. (The 1840 U.S. Census found George as head of household with female the right age to be Jane.)
Jane died there in 1841, the same year that her daughter-in-law Jane Prickett Piper, widow of John Runyan Piper, had moved there with her children.

Based on the age listed on the photo of Jane's headstone as 62 years, 2 months, and 2 days, and the death date as 3 Feb 1841, calculations indicate the birth to be on or about 1 Jan 1779.53
