Humphreys Andrew H, who died June 28, 1880 at his home in Ligonier, was born in Clark County, Ohio on Nov. 27, 1811. He married Mary Jones on Feb. 22, 1833, and in Oct. 1834 they, in company with his father, settled at Wolf Lake in Noble County. At that time there were only 2 white families in Wolf Lake and only 4 white families in Noble Twp, but plenty of Indians. In 1840 he joined the Free Will Baptist Church of Wolf Lake. The first corpse that was deposited in the old cemetery in this place he hauled there, a Mrs. Hanshaw of Port Mitchell, probably in 1835. He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters and one son. He maintained ownership of his Wolf Lake homestead, but had lived in Ligonier the last 8 years. Funeral was Wednesday at the church at Wolf Lake. + 1880 > 7-8-1880

1860 census - (48) farmer, Mary (47) domestic. Mary J (20) (school teacher) and Erastus (15) William Fenton living with the family as a laborer.

1880 Census - Retired Famer. Widowed daughter living at home with them (Jennie) Father born in Ireland, Mother born in Virginia.
