Caroline, wife of county commissioner Ole Hammer, died at the home of her son E.O. Hammer at Litchfield, Minnesota, Saturday.
The remains were brought here Saturday evening and Monday afternoon the funeral was held from the home just north of the city. The interment being at the Central; Freeborn church cemetery.
Mrs. Hammer was stricken over a year ago with cancer tumor and a operation failed to give relief. She grew worse and she was taken to a hospital in St. Paul.
She grew worse and in December at the holiday season her son Elder Hammer took her to his home. They hoped she would get better and return to her treatment. However she continued to grow weaker and Saturday she passed away.
She was born October 31, 1849 and was fifty four years of age at the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband and four children.
Elder O. , Alvin, Alice and Mrs. T.O. Winjum.
Another daughter , Mrs. Emma Skophammer preceded her in death.
The family and friends have the sincere sympathy of all.
