San Jose Evening News 4-30-1896, p. 2, in an article on Oak Hill: "Ir is the case of Mary Jones, who died August 4, 1871. The cause of her death is set down as: "Broken heart; grief at the loss of her husband." And in explanation the entry of the death of her husband, Reuben B Jones, is made. He died July 22, 1871, thirteen days before his wife's death, and suicide is attributed as the cause."103
