In 1870 Reuben B Jones 34 b. OH, farmer, lived in San Jose Twp, Santa Clara, CA with Mary 31 b. Ireland, Mary 8, Laura 6, George 5, Margaret 3, and Martha 5 mo. (b. March), and Wirt Jones 21 b. OH, day laborer. Could this be Worth W Jones, in spite of the age and birthplace disparities?

If so, it would strengthen the hypothesized tie between Isaac Newton Jones and Zachariah Jones.

In 1880 the chldren, except for Margaret, were living with Reuben's mother in San Jose. (see her notes). San Francisco Evening Bulletin7-25-1871, p. 2: "Reuben Jones committed suicide at San Jose on the 22nd inst."103
