Born in Scandinavia Wisconsin December 12, 1867, Attended Oshkosh State Normal School (Teachers College) - 1 year,
Attended Augsbury Seminary - 3 years,
Ordained as pastor at Augsburg in 1896.
Was pastor at Badger, Minnesota from 1896-1899. Also served in W. Superior Wisconsin 1900-1904, and in Everest, Kansas 1904-1906. He taught at the Bethany College in Everett, WA and later was treasurer at the college 1907-1912.
During this time was also Pastor at First Lutheran of Richmond Beach 1907-12
Served as pastor in Ferndale, WA and Golgotha Free Lutheran in Blaine WA from 1912 to 1917. Later served at Poulsbo, WA where he baptized his first grand-daughter (Laura) in 1922. His last pastorate, before retiring, was in Ellensburg, WA. First Lutheran Church of Ellensburg Winter 1927-April 1931.
He led church choirs and Mrs. Bestul played the organ. His last years were spent living in Ferndale, WA until his death in 1940.B
