Buckles Edwin H, son of Robert and Catherine Piper Buckles, was the eldest of five children and was born Aug. 7, 1857 in Washington Twp. Oct. 10, 1880 he was married to Sarah E. Howenstine of Washington Twp. To this union was born seven children, namely, Carl, Maynard, Mabel, Nina, Roy, Ross, and an infant, Ross, Mabel and Roy preceding him to the spirit world. On Dec. 9, seemingly without warning, he was called to meet his God, and leaves to mourn their loss his faithful wife; three children, Carl of Washington Twp, Maynard of Aztec, N.M., and Nina at home; three grandchildren; two brothers, George of Washington Twp, William of Mishawaka; and one sister, Mrs. John Reed of Washington Twp. He was a member of Stringtown Christian Church where funeral was held Dec. 14. Burial, Stringtown Cemetery. + 12-?-1921
