Born in Paulsbo, WA Delivered at home by Dr. Knut A Kyvig. He and his wife will be a second set of parents for Laura, taking her on trips and into Seattle and other locations on outings.

DAHL-BESTUL NUPTIALS - The Bellingham Herald, Aug 26, 1945
In a beautiful candlelight ceremony at the Lutheran Free church in Ferndale Friday evening August 17, Miss Laura M Bestul daughter to Mr and Mrs Luther Bestul of Ferndale, became the bride to Lieut. Harold A Dahl, son of Mr and Mrs Alfred C Dahl of Crary, North Dakota.
Lighted candelabra and tall wicker baskets fried with pink and white gladioli about the altar furnished an effective background for the double ring service read at 8:30 o’clock by the Rev C J Nestvold. Following the lighting to the candles by the ushers, Mr Glen Bergh sang "At Dawning,” accompanied by Miss Mattie Gregor, who also played the wedding march.
The bride, who came down the candlelit aide with her father, wore a gown with a white satin fitted bodice with long sleeves pointed at the wrist and a long skirt and train to silk marquisette The veil to finger-tip length fell from a half hat of the same material.
For Jewelry die wore a heart-shaped locket, the gift of the groom. She carried a Colonial bouquet to pink roses, sweet peas and stephenotis centered with gardenias, and showered with white streamers to which were attached clusters to stephanotis and gypsophelia.
Miss Helen Mohn, maid to honor, Miss Theresa Hammlngh, bridesmaid and, Miss Shirley Bestul, sister to the bride as Junior bridesmaid, wore Identical dresses to peach taffeta. They carried Colonial nosegays to lavender and white sweet peas and scabiosa tied with lavender tulle. The Rev. Carsten Brien to Arlington, cousin to the groom was best man. Another cousin to the groom, Stanley Moe, of Sumas, and Donald Moe, cousin of the bride, acted as ushers
The bride’s mother wore black, the groom’s mother navy blue. Both had garednias.
The reception In the church parlors followed the service, when Mrs Arthur J Moe, of Sumas, and Mrs Warren Northup, of Paulsbo, presided at the coffee urns. Assisting with the serving were Blisses Ruth Nestvold and Ethel Berg. During the reception soft violin music was played by Erlene Flockol, accompanied by her sister, Carol.
The bride and groom cut the first piece of wedding cake with a saber after which It was served by Mrs Peter Sommerseth, aunt to the bride.
Miss Hazel Willand was in charge to the gift table and Lieut. Marian Newel, A N C., the guest book.
When the couple left for Big Four, Washington, the bride wore a grey suit with black and white accessories and a gardenia corsage. Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Western Washington College to Education. The bride has been teaching In Seattle for the past two years, previous to which she taught at Shelton.
The groom entered the service In September, 1941, and received his commission at Yale university in July, 1943. He Is presently assigned as radar observer with headquarters Second air force, Colorado Springs, Colo. and will return to await orders for duty.
Mrs. Dahl, mother to the groom, came from Crary, N. D., to attend the wedding. Among the many guests at the wedding were relatives and friends from Arlington, Sumas, Everett, Paulsb,o Marysville, Granite Falls, Silvana, Everson, Bellingham and Edmonds.
Laura M. (Dahl) MILLER Laura M. Dahl Miller went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2010 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Poulsbo on February 5, 1922 to Luther and Magda Bestul. During the Depression, her family moved to Ferndale, WA and she graduated from Ferndale H.S. in 1940. She earned a degree in Education from Western Washington College and went on to teach elementary school around the Seattle area. She married Harold A. Dahl on August 17, 1945, and together they had four daughters. Harold passed away in 1973. On Oct. 30, 1976, she married Frank Miller. Laura was a faithful servant in Lutheran churches her entire life. She was president of the congregation at First Lutheran Church of Richmond Beach and a member of many Women's Circles, Altar Guilds, and Bible Studies. During the past fifteen years, she was associated with the Everett Area Newcomers' Club, where she formed many close friendships, but one of her greatest joys was her family. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Leann (Pat) Stocklin, Carol (Wayne) Hatton, Nancy (Robert) Brien, and Paula (Doug) Jones, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Frank preceded her in death in 1996, and her sister, Shirley Phillips, in 2007. The Burial Service will be held on Friday, December 3rd at Green Acres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA, and a Memorial Service will take place at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd. Everett, WA 98213 on December 4th at 2:00 p.m. Memorials, in memory of Laura Miller, may be made to Group Health Hospice 2100 124th Avenue NE Suite 100 Bellevue, WA 98005.
