Tom Ward, 63, of Baileyton, passed away Friday afternoon, May 10, 2013, at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years with the rank of Master Sergeant. After his military career, he was employed by Plus Mark for 18 years before retiring due to his health. He was a Baptist and a member of Moose Lodge No. 692.
Survivors include his mother: Lona Ward of Greene County; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Jim and Cheryl Ward of Cleveland, OH, and John Ward of San Antonio, TX; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Mary Marshall of Jefferson City, TN, Lisa and John Mullins of Baileyton, and Sharon and Randy Jackson of Greene County; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Guy Ward; sister-in-law: Lin Ward; brother-in-law: Danny Marshall.
The Ward family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and staff of Laughlin Memorial Hospital, Priscilla Lynch, NP, Cindy Taliaferro of Caris Hospice and Dr. Dharmen Patel.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Kenny Fillers officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Caney Creek Cemetery.
