Paul James Jones, age 56, of 78 North 5th street, heating engineer for the
Ohio Fuel Gas Company, former resident of Columbus, died Sunday, Jan 24,
1943, at 1:03 a.m. in the City Hospital after a short illness. He was admitted to
the hospital Friday, and death was due to complications resulting from an attack
of influenza.
Mr. Jones had made Newark his home the past 2 years and was an employee of
the Ohio Fuel Gas Company. For 17 years he was associated with the Jeffrey
Manufacturing Company of Columbus, and was also with the Ohio Fuel Gas
Company in Mansfield for 8 ears.
A native of Ohio he was born December 17th, 1886 in London, Madison County,
the son of the late Charles and Mary McArdle Jones. Besides his widow, he
leaves a, daughter Mrs. Donald Johnson of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle
Rochelle, 2425 North 4th St, Columbus.
Mr. Jones was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Church, Columbus council,
Knights of Columbus; Mansfield Lodge of Elks; and the United Commercial
Travelers. The body was moved to the home of his sister, Mrs Rochelle, in
Columbus, from the Gutliph and Henderson funeral home. The funeral will be
held Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. with a requiem mass in Sacred Heart church,
Columbus. Burial will be made in the London cemetery.
