Marion Gail Tunby BOZEMAN Marion Gail Tunby, 74, passed away at her home Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996, from complications due to cancer. She was born May 25, 1921, in Highland Park, 111., to Albert and Myrtle (Cummings) Gail. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1939 and later received a degree in art education from the University of Illinois. Marion was joined in marriage to Roy Tunby on Oct. 1, 1949, in Denver, Colo. They moved to Bozeman in 1958. Marion loved her family, skiing, gardening, oil painting and her cats. She will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and love of Montana. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bozeman Antique Car Club, Bozeman Mustang Club, Montana Institute of the Arts, and was active with the local Crimestoppers organization. Marion was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Stewart. She is survived by her husband, Roy of Bozeman; daughters, Marcia McChesney and husband, Ryan and Maureen Tunby of Sheridan, Wyo.; son, Roy H. Tunby Jr. and wife, Mary of Bozeman; brother, William A. Gail and wife, Donna of Cleveland, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4, at Hope Lutheran Church, 210 S. Grand, Bozeman, Mont. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin County Hospice, 915 Highland Blvd., Bozeman, Mont. 59715; or the Gallatin County Humane Society, 2125 N. Rouse, Bozeman, Mont. 59715. Cremation has taken place. Dahl Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
