Evenor Brekke, 91, formerly of Galloway, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Rosholt, with the Rev. Dale Wilford officiating. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery in Rosholt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg, and at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the services. Online condolences may be offered at www.schmidtschulta.com.
Mr. Brekke was born July 5, 1914, in the town of Franzen in Marathon County, a son of the late Alfred and Emma (Loberg) Brekke.
He was a lifelong resident of Galloway, farming the land that his family first cleared. He and his late brother, Walton, ran the dairy farm and raised potatoes their entire adult lives until their retirement in 1976. They received numerous awards for production and excellence from dairy and crop production organizations.
He was an avid sports fan and supporter of local athletics, attending numerous basketball and baseball games.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Ida Brekke, Wittenberg, and Leona Brekke, Cushing; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Alfred and Walton; and one sister, Lola (Brekke) Carter.
