Mrs. James N. Bestul, 73, Rosholt, died Saturday morning at 10:10 at St. Michael's Hospital. She had been admitted to the hospital at 8:45 that morning.

Funeral services will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church, Rosholt, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A. D. Halvorson of Iola will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the Voie Funeral Home, Iola, from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.

Mrs. Bestul has been a resident of Rosholt for the last 29 years. Her husband, now retired, was village marshall for many years.

Born in the town of Amherst of Feb. 3, 1884, she was the former Clara O. Lysne, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lysne. Her marriage to Mr. Bestul took place May 2, 1906, at Wittenberg.

Before moving to Rosholt, she had been a resident of the Town of Alban, Galloway and Wittenberg.

Mr. and Mrs. Bestul celebrated their golden wedding anniversary a year ago.

Mrs. Bestul's survivors include her husband; two sons, Neuman, of Clinton and Russell, of Orfordville; four daughters, Mrs. Herbert Hanson and Miss Evelyn Bestul, Chicago, Mrs. Irving Wogsland, Iola, and Miss Norma Bestul, at home; a sister, Mrs. Sanford Iverson, Wittenberg, and 22 grandchildren.

A daughter died in infancy and a son, Luther, lost his life while serving in the U. S. Army in World War II. Publication: SPDJ Monday, May 13, 1957
