FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD FRIDAY FOR FORMER REGENT Funeral services for Franklin A. Nace, former member of the University of Wisconsin board of regents and well known farmer in the Iola communuity, who died Monday morning at 8:40 o'clock at his farm home three miles east of Iola, will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the family home followed by services at Our Savior's Lutheran church at Benson's Corners. Rev. M. O. Dale will officiate and interment will take place ia the Iola cemetery. The body will be at the Swenson funeral home at Iola until Thursday when it will be taken to the home. Mr. Nace was born on March 28, 1830, at Iola at his present farm home. He is the son of Mrs. Carrie Nace, who resides with him, and the late N. C. Nace. He attended the district school near Iola, was graduated from the Wittenberg academy and attended the University of Wisconsin. On December 31, 1925, his marriage to Miss Irene Hoyord of the town of Amherst took place. Mr. Nace served as a member of the University of Wisconsin board of regents and had the distinction of being the first farmer to serve in this capacity. He was a former president of the Wisconsin Potato Growers' association for two years, secretary of the state Holstelu Freislan association, president of the Farm Holiday movement for one year and was a director of the Farmers' State bank at Iola. Surviving besides his wife and mother are three children, Leonard, Mildred and Virginia, all at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Hotvedt of New Hope, and Mrs. William Nueske of Iola.
