Alfred C. Hoyord, 82, Big Falls, a former Town of Scandinavia and Town of Amherst resident, died at the Iola Hospital at 2:30 this morning. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Sav ior's Lutheran Church, Town of New Hope, with the Rev. Herbert Larson officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Vole Funeral Home, Iola, from noon Wednesday until noon Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church. Born in the Town of Scandina via on June 1, 1876, Mr. Hoyord was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hoyord. He grew up in the Scandinavia area and later moved to the Town of Amherst, where he farmed. Recently, he had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Guy Lien, Big Falls. Mr. Hoyord was married twice. His first wife, the former Ella Bestul, died in 1906. He later married Resine Erickson, who died In 1912. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Thoen, Kasota, Minn., and Mrs. Lien; two sons, Julian, Town of Amherst, and Allard Madison; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
