SWAYZEE -- M. Ed Shelley, 84, 811 E. Lyons St., Swayzee, died at 11:35 p.m. Monday in his home.
Mr. Shelley was born in Marion. He had lived in Marion all his life before moving to Swayzee three months ago. He was second-shift supervisor at Anaconda, a wire manufacturer, where he worked 32 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Marion Church of Christ, where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Doris L.; two daughters, Jo. E. (Mrs. Phillip) Benbow, Marion, and Lois (Mrs. Sid) Berry, Denver; two stepdaughters, Pam (Mrs. Dan) Harrell, Marion, and Penny, (Mrs. Pat) Cannon, Rochester; a stepson, Ken Whitehurst, Fort Wayne; a sister, Irene Walston, Marion; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, with Rick Jett and Matt Mallott officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park cemetery, Marion.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
