San Jose Evening News 10-13-1900 says, regarding the death of Mattie Hunt that one daughter, Eva, was a trained nurse at Lane Hospital, and another, Lily, was keeping house in Berkeley for the younger son, who wass attending school in the college town. San Jose Evening News 9-19-1902, p. 3: "Miss Evelyn Hunt, who was married recently at San Rafael to Edward Downing, a well-known business man of Visalia is the daughter of Mr and Mrs S B Hunt, who formerly resided in this city, and a niece of Josiah Belden, a pioneer millionaire of this city, now a resident of New York."
