Note: In 1900 Sarah Belden b. 3/1866 OH (mother b. OH), widow with 5 children living, lived in Manhattan at 7 51st St with five servants. San Jose Evening News 12-3-1904: "A dispatch from New York announces the death in that city of Mrs Margaret Belden, widow of the late Josiah Belden, formerly of this city. Mrs Belden came to California, overland with her parents, arriving at San Jose in 1849. Soon after her arrival she married Josiah Belden, and their home for many years was in the Belden residence on North First Street, where the Hotel Vendome now stands. Over twenty years ago Mr and Mrs Belden, with their children, moved to New York City, where she resided since that time. Mr Belden died about twelve years ago."
