Interment will be held at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery in Devils Lake, ND. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Harold was born on April 9, 1932 in Crary, ND, the 8th of 11 children, to parents Asmond and Johanna (Dahl) Anderson. When Harold was three the family moved to a farm near Southam, ND. His mother always had a large garden and canned meat with the children. As a small boy he plowed fields with horses. Times were tough, at the age of 12, Harold had to go live with a family for room and board. He also had to live with his sister, Margaret and husband Lloyd, as well as his sister, Harriet and her husband Ed.

Harold was drafted into the United States Army on June 17, 1952. He rode a troop train from Fargo, ND to Ft. Sill, OK. After basic training, he took a 21-day boat ride to Korea. Harold was discharged on March 17, 1954. After Harold served his Country, he went to work for a farmer (Arthur Burt) in Devils Lake; then onto the Ramsey Co. Highway Dept. in Devils Lake.

On July 10, 1957, Harold married Doris Arleen Morgan at the Crary Congregational Church in Crary, ND. They made their home in Devils Lake, ND where they built a new house, doing a lot of the work themselves. This union blessed 6 children, unfortunately the youngest child, John, only lived for a short time, January 25, 1969 to January 26, 1969. Harold was employed by Ottertail Power Company in September of 1958. In the fall of 1968, they moved to Minnewaukan, ND when Harold was transferred for his job. In 1971, they went to work building another house, doing most of the work again all by themselves. July 1, 1975, they moved to a farm in Bagley, MN and started milking cows. They had 2 more children, but again unfortunately lost one child, James in June 1976. Harold and Doris milked cows until 2001. After they quit milking, they started raising beef cattle with their youngest son Shane. Doris passed away on October 28, 2019 after 62 years of marriage. Harold sold his beef cattle in 2019; however; he never really retired. Harold was a member of the Irvin Blix American Legion Post #16of Bagley and Faith Lutheran Church. In February, Harold took the trip of a lifetime. He traveled to Fort Meyers, FL with daughter-in law Jill and Kathy Boe to meet his son, Kory and daughter-in-law Jennifer. He enjoyed the trip very much and no one could wipe the smile off his face. In June of 2020, he moved in with his son Jeff and daughter-in-law Jill and was a very happy man.
