Marysville Man Dies
In One-Car Accident
Russell W. Wibley, 22, 105 1/2
N. Plum St., was killed Sunday
in a one-car accident on Lincoln
Rd. (Co. Rd. 79) in Union Twp.,
one mile north of the Champaign
County line, according to a State
Highway Patrol spokesperson.

Injured in the accident were
passengers Gregory L. Wilson,
23, Woodstock and Jeffrey
Diehl, 23, West Mansfield. Both
men were transported to
Memorial Hospital of Union
County where they ate listed
today in fair condition.

A patrol spokesperson said
Wibley, the driver, was southbound
on Lincoln Rd. Sunday about
10:30 a.m. when he reportedly drove
his 1981 Chevette off the right side
of the road and struck a concrete
culvert. The car was heavily
damaged.

A Marysville Fire Dept.
report said Wibley was dead on
arrival. The body was taken to
the Memorial Hospital morgue.

Wibley was born August 9,
1961 in Kenton. He is survived
by his mother and step-father
Virginia and William Herriott,
Marysville, and his father and
step-mother, Richard E. and
Maxine Wibley, Milford Center.

He was an associate of Honda
of America, and a member of
Eagles Lodge No. 3506 and the
Union County Men's Bowling
Association.

Also surviving are his
maternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Powell,
Cardington, seven sisters,
Mrs. Richard (Diane)
Leaver, North Lewisburg, Mrs.
Douglas (Peggy) Pennington,
Mrs. Rebecca Fogle, Mrs. Mark
(Connie) Hildreth, Laura
Herriott, Mrs. Jerry (Brenda)
Rostorfer, all of Marysville and
Mrs. Dwayne (Jenny) Leiter,
Richwood, and three brothers,
Richard A. Wibley, Columbus
Ronald Herriott, Richwood,
and Danny Herriott, Mt. Vernon.

Funeral services will be held
at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the
Ingram Funeral Home with the
Rev. G. William Wilcher officiating,
and interment following in Oakdale
Cemetery. Friends may call at the
Funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m.
