Ellene Frieda (Klein) Jones, 91, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021. Ellene was born to Carl and Freida (Genzler) Klein on Feb. 15, 1930 in Seattle WA.
Ellene grew up a proud member of the Ballard community. She attended West Woodland ES, James Monroe JH, and Ballard HS, graduating in 1948. She married Thomas F. Jones from Seattle and also a Ballard graduate, in 1949. They were married for 52 years until Tom’s passing in 2002. Ellene loved spending time with her family and always made sure the cookie jar was full or there was a fresh baked pie waiting. She was an avid bridge player into her later years. She and Tom enjoyed their travels and watching sporting activities. They rarely missed a home Husky football game and enjoyed the occasional trip to away games as well. She was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church attending Zion, Our Redeemers of Seattle, and First Lutheran of Richmond Beach.
Ellene is survived by her three children, Rod (Nancy), Doug (Paula) and Leigh (Rich) Jones and six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and her sister Merrilyn.
