Robert Harrison, 64, Humboldt, died Friday, June 26, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Des Moines, of cancer. Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Humboldt. Monsignor Louis Kollasch officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military graveside rites were performed by Adams American Legion Post No. 119.
He is survived by two sons, a daughter, 10 grandchildren; mother, Veronica Harrison, Pocahontas; and a brother Merle (Bud) Harrison, Pocahontas.
He was born and raised in the Pocahontas area and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. He married Alice Zeman in 1946. The couple lived in Pocahontas County. He drove a truck and was also employed on a farm. He later married Freda Laing. The couple lived in Humboldt. She died in 1984. He was engaged at the time of his death.
