Mary Belle Legler, 86, of Merlin died Monday, March 19, 2007, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.since1928hull.com. Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526.
Legler was born March 23, 1920, in Tustin, Calif. In 1957, she moved from Long Beach, Calif., to Grants Pass, where she worked at the Josephine County Assessor's Office and retired in 1983. In February 1958, she married Milburn Legler, who died before her.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and she volunteered with the Southern Oregon Medical Center Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, crafts and bingo.
Survivors include three children, Jim Russell of Grants Pass, Gail Vinyard of Merlin, and Fred Legler of Massachusetts; a sister, Ruby Drumwright of Grants Pass; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
