DIED
In town of Erdahl, Grant county, Friday, May 6, at 12 m., Miss Oliva Goulden, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Windsor Goulden, age 18 years and 3 days.

It was only about three weeks ago when all the children of Mr. and Mrs. Goulden were taken down with the measles, but all speedily recovered, with the exception of Miss Oliva. Her sickness turned into pneumonia, and although everything was done that could be, she gradually failed until death claimed another victim at the time stated above.

The loss of this girl falls very hard on her parents. Oliva was one who always preferred to be at home than away, and during her life it is said she had not spent three nights away from home. She was a quiet, lovable girl, making friends with everyone she would become acquainted, and was loved and respected by them in return.

The funeral took place form [sic] the Lutheran church in Erdahl last Sunday afternoon, and was the largest ever known in that neighborhood. It was attended by many friends of the parents from this village and Ashby, the Knights of Pythias lodge of the latter place, of which order Mr. Goulden, is an honored member, turning out almost to a man. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J. W. Hood, of the Evansville Presbyterian church, and the music was furnished by the choir from the same church.

Mr. and Mrs. Goulden have the sincere sympathy of everyone in their loss. All their friends realize how heavy the sad blow falls on hem [sic] and have done all they could to lessen the load, for which he [sic] bereaved parents extend to one and all their heartfelt thanks.
