Warren Dennis Punt of East Putney, Vermont was struck down by a train in Willamanset, Massachusetts on Monday.
Warren was a foreman on the section crew of the Boston & Maine Railroad and lost his life on the Williamansett-Holyoke side of the bridge. It was believed he was walking across the tracks to pick up some tools when Train No. 77 hit him. He died instantly.
Warren made his home with his mother, Mrs. Ada Punt spending each weekend while working out of Chicopee, Massachusetts.
Warren has served as cook for train crews and was a veteran of World War I and fought overseas. Warren was born in Westminster, Vermont and was the son of Arthur Eugene and Ada Phelps Punt. Besides his parents, Warren is survived by one sister, Mrs. Helen Punt Underwood from Keene, New Hampshire, two brothers, George Arthur Punt from Keene, New Hampshire and Harry David Punt from Rochester, New York.
Warren was a member of the East Putney Community Club of which he has served as director and vice-president. He was a member of the Putney Post American Legion.
Services will be held Putney Federated Church on Thursday at 2 p.m.

had one son, Leo Punt, and two daughters, Geraldine Punt died in infancy, Martha Francis Punt. I understand that Warren Dennis Punt legally adopted Elizabeth F. Holley' s half-brother, Edward Charles Demear. Elizabeth F. Holley Punt and Edward Charles Demear share the same mother, Mrs. Agnes Frances Wilcox Holley.
