SERVICES SET FOR BRADLEY J. SCHAEFFER
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today for Bradley J. Schaeffer, a partner in one of Dayton's oldest law firms, Pickrel, Schaeffer & Ebeling.
Mr. Schaeffer died Monday at Miami Valley Hospital, a few hours after he became ill at his office. He was 75.
He was a son of Virgil Schaeffer, one of the partners of the firm as it was incorporated in 1939 with William G. Pickrel and Philip C. Ebeling Sr. The firm dates to 1915, when it was Burkhart, Heald & Pickrel.
Mr. Schaeffer's son, Alan, is a third-generation member of the firm of 26 attorneys. Alan's wife, Beth Schaeffer, will bring the firm a new distinction when she becomes the first woman president of the Dayton Bar Association.
Mr. Schaeffer's firm does general, corporate and business legal work, including litigation, employment and labor law, probate and estate planning. Mr. Schaeffer was president of the Ohio Bar Title Insurance Co., a position recently assumed by his son, Alan.
Survivors include his wife, Paula; other sons Michael of Portland, Ore., Doug of Occidental, Calif., and Curt of Riverside, Conn.; and five grandchildren.
Routsong Funeral Home, Oakwood, is in charge of arrangements. The family said memorial contributions may be made to the Aullwood Audubon Center, 1000 Aullwood Road.
