Mrs. Arthur E. (Nina) Whitman, 61, for the past 40 years a resident of Klamath Falls, died at Hillside Hopsital Thursday afternoon. Her death was unexpected and came as a shock to her many friends.
Her son George, resident of North Bend, arrived last night and announced final rites would be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the memorial chapel with interment in the family plot of Klamath Memorial Park.
Mrs. Whitman suffered a fall in October and had not been well since that time. She entered the hospital for medical care Wednesday evening and died early Thursday afternoon. She was born in Carleton, Oregon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bakeman, pioneers of that district.
Mr. and Mrs. Whitman were married May 19, 1910 in Medford, today would have been their 40th wedding anniversary.
They moved to Klamath Falls early in 1911 and Mr. Whitman established Whitman Drug which operated conintuously until the time of his death, May 8, 1949.
Survivors include the son George, two grandchildren, William Arthur and Susan Dee, all of North Bend, one sister, Mrs. Mayme Gregory of Eureka, Calif.
