Arline Dahl, of Seattle, died on January 22, 2014 at the age of 99. She was born November 22, 1914 in Louisburg, Kansas. She was a graduate of the Wichita Business College; after which time she was a civil service employee. Her first five years were with the Navy Department Bureau of Ships in Washington D.C. She had many interesting experiences during this period of World War II before transferring to the Seattle area.
She married Cyril Dahl in 1945; a marriage that lasted 48 years. She continued her civil service career in the Navy Supply Depot, The Military Sea Transportation Service, The Veteran's Administration Army Supply Depot and, lastly, ten years with the federal Aviation Administration where she retired in January, 1971.
Arline and Cyril made their home in West Seattle and Bellevue. After Cyril's death in 1996, Arline's home became the Lakeshore Retirement Community. She was a long time member of Bryn Mawr United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three nieces, four nephews and a host of exceedingly great friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bryn Mawr United Methodist Church, 8016 South 116th Street, Seattle, Washington 98178 (tel. 206 772 0880) at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2014.
Remembrances may be made to the church or your favorite charity . During her lifetime, Arline was a strong supporter of Seattle Children's Hospital, Therapeutic Health Services (THS), Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Wesley Homes Foundation and The Union Gospel Mission.
