Mary Ann Dahl, was 85 years of age when she passed away at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji, MN. Raised in Grand Forks, she attended St. Michael’s Catholic School, graduating from St. James High School. Two years of study at St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN before transferring to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She met Curt Dahl in Religion Class; they married Sept. 8, 1952 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Mary Ann stayed at home to raise their child-ren. In the 1950’s they built and moved into a home in East Grand Forks. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; also a member of the Sewing and Bridge Clubs. The cabin located on Grace Lake, Bemidji was their summer home from 1968-1987; at which time, they made the cabin their year-round home. Mary Ann loved being on the lake surrounded by trees, riding her jet ski, reading, travelling, and savoring her Brach’s and Hershey’s chocolates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Winnifred (Kelly) Neff; husband, Curt; son Jeff Dahl, and her brother Quentin Neff. Services July 19th St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Bemidji. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
