Daughter of Elijah Ritter and Charlotte Denman. Her father died when she was about 9 years old. Following her father's death, her mother married Daniel Manier.
1m: Nelson Schagel on Nov. 30, 1887, in Kosciusko Co., Indiana. She is indexed as Nannie B. Ritter [Nancy Belle Ritter]. Nelson worked for the railroad and was attempting to remove a tramp from the rails when he was shot and killed by the tramp. They apparently had two children who were deceased by the 1910 census.
