In 1900 Forrest was living, along with Maud and Dorothy, in the home of Lesie Patterson in McKean County. Forrest was adopted by Pitt & Nettie Abbey in 1902. At 15 he was living with Edmund Palmer in Bradford [1910 census]. Picture of his tombstone in Abbey memorabilia. Forrest Abbey of Ravenna, Ohio was named as a nephew in the obituary of Pitt Abbey. In 1930 Forest Abbey 35 b. PA, auto mechanic, was living in Warren, Trumbull, Ohio with wife Amy 37 b. OH and children Arnold 12, Jane 11, Edith M 9, and Leon 8. On his WWII Draft Registration, Forrest stated that he was residing at a War Dept Terminal in Cleveland, working at Painesville Machine Co. His wife Amy was living in Orwell, OH. B. in Smethport, 5-7, 168 lbs,
McKean County Democrat 12-17-1942: "Forrest Clark Abbey passed away suddenly at his work as government inspector at the Painsville Machine Shop, Painsville, Ohio. Born in Smethport Oct 27, 1894, he was the only son of the late Jay B Abbey and Francis Abbey Puckett of Los Gatos, Calif. On Oct 30, 1915 he was united in marriage to Amy Dole of Orwell, Ohio, in which vicinity he lived until about a year ago when he entered the government service.... Besides his grief stricken widow, he is survived by his mother, Mrs Frances Puckett of Los Gatos; two sons and two daughters: Arnold Jay of Cleveland, Leon Charles, air cadet examiner, U S Army, stationed at Louisville, Ky, Mrs Jane Cross, Champion, Ohio, Mrs Edith Ann Supinski, Painsville, Ohio, five grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Maud Rhodes, Los Gatos, Calif, Mrs. Pearl Cox, Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Dorothy Adams...."
