Everett M. Moe passed away on August 4, 2012 at the age of 94. He was born in Everett, WA on November 23, 1917, and was named after the town of Everett.

He was the last surviving son of Olgar and Gustava (Borgen) Moe, pioneers of the Norman Area, in the Stillaguamish Valley.

Everett grew up on the farm. He was baptized (1918) and Confirmed (1931) at Salem Lutheran Church, Silvana, WA. He graduated from Union High School in 1937.

In November, 1941, Everett Joined the U.S. Army. He received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Defense Services Medal and Victory Medal. He also was awarded a Bronze Service Star for his participation in Ryukyus Campaign. He was honorably discharged at Fort Lewis, WA on January 14, 1946.
After his military service, Everett began his career with Snohomish County Road Dist. #1. He spent many of those years operating the "Blue Goose" asphalt machine, retiring in 1977.

He was predeceased by his parents; also his brothers, Orrie, Raymond, Burnie, Archie, Donald and Luther Moe.

Everett is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, including MacKenzie and Abbie Depner, who were his "special girls", also Janice Sabo, who was his stepdaughter.
Everett spent the last 12 years as a resident in the "Suites" at Josephine in Stanwood, WA.
He was well cared for by the staff there, along with frequent visits from niece, Sandy and her husband, Dave Hegwald, who made sure he had everything he needed, including a trip to the doctor, or a haircut.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m.. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Stanwood, WA.
